Virginia Ness

Virginia Van Ness passed into the loving arms her Lord and Savior on January 7, 2018 at home in Levelland, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Levelland, Pastor Robert Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

Virginia was born March 12, 1939 in Brownfield, Texas to the late James Smith and the late Darsie Mae Autry Smith. She married the love of her life, Jack Van Ness on July 18, 1953. Virginia worked alongside Jack in the cotton industry for many years before retiring. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by twin sister, Verna Lee Johnson, sister Janet Harris, son-in-law, Earl Shugart, nephew, Jack Harris, and niece Vicky Henry.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband, Jack, daughters Janet Shugart, Becky (Steve) Thompson, Jennifer (Gary) Sisson; grandchildren, Carrie and Sid Gray, Melissa and Josh Coleman, Jason and Denise Sisson, Scott and McCall Sisson, Jordan Sisson and Rhonda Collier, Chase Thompson and Kaci Thompson; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
