Virginia Sue Greene

Virginia Sue Greene, 87, of Levelland passed from the life on Friday, October 25, 2024. Visitation will be held at Krestridge Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Krestridge Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

Sue was born on September 9, 1937, in Alvord, Texas, to Alice King and Elzie Greenwood. She was a fiery, quick-witted woman with a compassion that knew no bounds. Sue loved her family with all her heart, ensuring that everyone she met left with a smile. She had a passion for gardening, sewing, crafting, and sharing treasured stories from her past. Sue was a woman whose presence filled every room with vibrant energy. Her eyes sparkled with fierce intensity; she was quick to defend those she loved and never hesitated to speak her mind. With a natural charisma that drew people in, her laughter was contagious, and her words left others inspired. Compassion was at the heart of her strength—she was always the first to step forward when others turned away, offering support to anyone in need. Her fiery spirit was balanced by her deep empathy, and while her resolve was strong, it was her warmth that made her truly unforgettable. Sue held several professions throughout her life, but two stood out: she was an accomplished seamstress and a successful business owner.

She met Ervin Greene at 15, and they married on December 20, 1952. For nearly 72 years, they shared an inseparable bond—a marriage and devotion that were the dream of everyone who knew them. They had three children and four grandchildren.

Sue is preceded in death by her father, Elzie Greenwood; her mother, Alice King Pollard; her brother, Vernon Greenwood; her son, Donnie Green; her son-in-law, Lonnie Stroud; and her granddaughter, Stasha Stroud.

Sue is survived by her husband, Ervin Greene of Levelland; her son, Randy Greene of Levelland; her daughter, Rebecca Stroud of Levelland; her granddaughter, Misty Greene of Florida; her grandson, Johnny Greene of Florida; and her granddaughter, Miranda Stroud of Houston.

As Sue was an avid gardener, the family invites flowers to be sent to Krestridge Funeral Home.
