Tommie Poteet

Tommie Bridwell Poteet, 85, passed from this life on December 1, 2018. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be announced by her family after the New Year.

She was born in Childress, Texas on October 14, 1933 to parents, Charlie Middleton Bridwell and Eldis Pinkerton Bridwell. Tommie attended Whitharral schools until her junior year. She graduated from Littlefield High School. She was a long time resident of Dimmitt in Castro County.

Tommie was a telephone operator for many years and retired as a supervisor. She loved to sew and cross stitch. Tommie was known for her witty sense of humor. She worked puzzle books every day to pass the time. Tommie had a soft heart for all animals and loved all of her cats. She was a member of Spade Texas Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris Fields, Edna Setliff and Betty Jones; husband, Billy Guy Poteet; and sons, Boyd Moore and Kevin Poteet.

Tommie is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Moore Webb and husband Aubrey of Anton, Texas; son. Brian Moore of Dimmitt, Texas; grandchildren, John, Audra, Troy, Christopher, Fredric, Quana, Clinton and Joshua; and 12 great grandchildren.
