Thomas Peralez, 53, joined his brother, Michael, in heaven on Friday, September 10, 2021. He was born March 17, 1966, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Thomas lived his younger years moving around with his parents doing migrant work in Idaho, Florida, Minnesota, and finally in 1982 his parents made their home in Sundown, Texas. He was the second oldest of five children that were all born exactly 5 years apart. Expect for him & Mike, they were 2 years apart. Two boys and three girls made for a full house, lots of love shared and tons of memories that were made. Thomas went from living life on a ranch in Idaho to becoming a Sundown Roughneck in Texas. He graduated from Sundown high school in 1986. He also had his one and only child Thomas Nathan Peralez. Thomas always lived life to the fullest and on the edge.
The town of Sundown became Thomas’ extended family when he opened his own restaurant, Tommy’s Burritos. That’s where he got the nickname, Tommy. He welcomed everyone that walked through that door with a smile on his face. Tommy had three priorities in his life. The first was his business that carried his name. The second was his “other son”, Chappy, his English bulldog. And last but not the very least, his two grandkids, Athan Iverson and Rylee Espn. Grandpa Chaps, as the kids called him, supported them at every championship game on early Saturday mornings to a recorder concert at school.
Thomas is preceded in death by his brother Michael Peralez, his grandparents, Francisco and Sophia Torrez and Enemencio and Damiana Peralez.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his son, Nathan and Allie Peralez of Sundown; his parents, Enemencio and Margie Peralez of Sundown; his sisters, Gloria and Juan Herrera of Sundown, Cynthia and Ben Hart of Sundown, and Betty Peralez of Lubbock; his grandchildren Athan Iverson and Rylee Espn of Sundown along with many nieces and nephews.
Tom, I know you are one of the biggest Guns N’ Roses fans but it gives my heart peace knowing that you are now home, resting and healed at the true Paradise City…I’ll miss you until we meet again. Love, Sis.
