Russell Dwain Allen

Russell Dwain Allen, 63, of Lubbock passed from this life on September 13, 2023.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the City of Levelland Cemetery.

He was born November 5, 1959 in Lubbock to Troy Eugene Allen and Verna Lee Burtchell Allen. Russell attended school in Levelland.  He was stationed in Germany while serving in the U.S. Army. 

Russell worked as a cook in several restaurants over the years.  He loved football season, especially watching the Dallas Cowboys, even reruns during off season!!

He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Allen, mother, Verna Allen Bowman; brother-in-law, Wayne Riggins; and aunt, Mary Burtchell Graves Barnes.

Russell is survived by son, Jason Michael Allen of Clinton, MS; daughter, Kristen (Jeremy) Slaven of Clinton, MS; granddaughters, Enly and Eadie Slaven of Clinton, MS; step-father, Robert “Bo” Bowman of Levelland; brother, Mike (Sandy) Allen of Lubbock; sisters, Crystal Riggins and Wendy Pierce both of Levelland; nieces, Mandy and Meagan Campbell of Sundown, Kimberly Fernandez of Lubbock, Lacey (Arnold) Almager and son Benjamin of Levelland; and Chelsey (Jason) Dobrovolny and sons, Hudson and Stedson; and nephew, Charles “Chas” Reed Taylor III of Abilene.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to South Plains College Scholarship Fund, Cancer Society, Wounded Warriors or a charity of your choice.
