Ruby Bailey

Ruby Louise Stockton Bailey, long time resident of Levelland, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 20th, 2017, at The Plaza in Lubbock, Texas, of natural causes at the age of 83. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 24th, from six o'clock to eight o'clock at Krestridge Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Krestridge Funeral Home on Thursday, May 25th, at 1 o'clock. Following the funeral, Ruby will be buried at the Levelland Cemetery. Allen Whitley will be officiating the service.

Ruby was born in Crosby County on February 3rd, 1934, to Troy Stockton and Mable McCartey. She attended Brownfield High School. She married her husband, James Carroll Bailey, in Levelland in 1969, and was a housewife for the majority of her life. Ruby enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, and watching John Wayne western movies.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Carroll Bailey, and sons, Larry Vassar and Jim Reding.

Ruby is survived by her five children, Deborah Perry, Richard Vassar and wife Linda, Terrie Cannon and husband Matt, Carol Foster and husband Joey, and Peggy Bailey, as well as her seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Hockley County Meals on Wheels in Ruby's honor.
