Rose Marie (Straub) Bruton, 84, of Levelland, Texas was born July 25, 1937 to the late Winthrop Lester Straub and Wauneita Straub in Yakima Washington. On August 1, 1955 she married the love of her life, Doyle Bruton.
Early in her life, Rose worked as a medication aide to nursing home patients in Denver City, Texas, but she was most fulfilled in her life in her role as homemaker, mother, and later grandmother and great grandmother. She loved crossword puzzles and weekly meetings with friends at the ceramic shop. She was blessed with a loving family who took care of her until the end of her life.
Rose loved to talk and make new friends, she will forever be remembered by family as someone who made friends wherever she went, was slow to judge, and quick to forgive.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Doyle Bruton of Levelland; children, Christie Wilde of Levelland and Randy Bruton and wife Frances of Denver City; brother, George Straub of Buckley, Washington; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws, and nieces and nephews who were special to her.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anne Thomas; and great grandson Joe Don Wilde.
Funeral services will be at First Assembly of God Church in Levelland, Texas at 10 AM on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM that afternoon in Denver City, Texas at the Denver City Memorial Cemetery. The family will hold a visitation at Krestridge Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas on Tuesday, March 1,2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
