Ronnie "Bud" Dean Smith

Bud Smith, 74, died peacefully in Levelland on September 6, 2024. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00PM on September 14, 2024 at Krestridge Funeral Home in Levelland. Bud was born on June 14, 1950 in Brownfield, TX.

He grew up west of Morton and graduated from Morton High School in 1968. After graduating, he remained in Morton until 1989, when he married Judy Greiner and moved to Bledsoe. They moved to Levelland a few years later and eventually ended up in Lake Whitney, TX. In 2017, they retired in Levelland.

Bud was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was sober from December 27,1991 until his passing. He loved helping others get sober. He helped thousands of men over the years and couldn’t wait to help the next person that came through the door. Bud used his humor and optimism to live the type of life many of us aspire to. He always looked at the bright side of any situation and used jokes to bring everybody around him up to his level. Now, some of the jokes were pretty bad but he had the gift of making them funny.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; parents, Olen and Katie Click, and granddaughter, Harlo Brulin-Greiner.

He is survived by his kids, Chad Smith and wife, Kim of Frisco, TX, Jana Greiner of Ney York, NY, Tommy Smith and wife, Lisa of Morton, TX, Cole Smith and wife, Marcy of Bandera, TX and Darby Sanders and husband, Austin of Fort Worth, TX. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

In addition, he is survived by his siblings Larry Smith and his wife, Sue of Ropesville, TX, Sandra Smith and her husband, Gary of Lubbock, TX, and David Click and his wife, Ann of Fort Collins, CO.

In lieu of flowers, tell everybody that you can a dad joke and that you love them.

Services with integrity, honor and pride are under the direction of Krestridge Funeral Home. (806) 897-1111
