Raymond Ochoa

Raymond Joe Ochoa, 73, of Levelland passed from this life on July 8, 2020.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the First Assembly of God Church.

He was born October 5, 1946 to Joe and Lupe Ochoa in Levelland.  Raymond married Maria Solano on August 8, 1965.  He worked in the oilfield most of his life before starting Big Three Pump Service in 2001, where he was lovingly known as Pops.

Raymond was ordained through the Southern Baptist Convention in 1991.  He pastored Templo Bautista in Slaton for 15 years, and has been the pastor of Iglesia Bautista Providencia in Lubbock for the last 14 years.

He had a great love for people which was shown through the years in church, work and on the baseball field.

Raymond was preceded in death by his dad, Joe E. Ochoa; mom, Lupe Ochoa; son, Johnny Ray Ochoa; brothers, Robert L. Ochoa and Sly Ochoa; and sister, Maria (Cuca) Anthony.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Andrew Ochoa, Richard Ochoa, Stephen Ochoa, Eric Ochoa and Andrea Medrano; brother, Reynaldo (Ray) Ochoa; sisters, Linda Reyna, Connie Comer, Melba Gomez, and Lisa Longoria; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved and admired him.

Raymond will be greatly missed.
