Raymond Glenn and Ethel Florine Edwards, both 79, of Levelland passed from this life on November 18, 2019. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 25, 2019, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.
Glenn was born July 20, 1940 in Whitharral to parents, Rufus (Cy) and Lou Emma Edwards. Florine was born October 5, 1940 in Levelland to parents, George and Golda Whittenburg. Glenn and Florine were married December 3, 1966.
Glenn joined the Air Force in 1965. He retired as a Major in 1985. He attended South Plains College, Texas Tech University and received his Master's degree from Wayne State University. After his military retirement, Glenn served as Hockley County Veteran's Service Officer until his final retirement in 2002.
Florine received her Associate's degree from South Plains College in accounting. After travelling around the world with Glenn's military career, Florine retired from the Hockley County Tax Office in 2001.
Glenn and Florine were both avid golfers. Glenn was in the local paper for ''shooting his age'' when he was 76. Florine loved family time, crafting and shopping. They both enjoyed travelling in their younger years. Never far apart, Glenn and Florine were married for almost 53 years.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Soc (Nubbin) Edwards. Florine was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Don Whittenburg.
They are survived by their daughters, Susan (Larry) Runnels and Diann (John) Merriman; grandsons, Larry Runnels III and Timothy Runnels; Glenn's sisters, Mary Spruiell and Shirley (John) Breeden; Florine's sister, Belinda (Jesse) Lane and sister in love, Barbara Whittenburg; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation (Parkinson.org) in their name.
