Rayburn Holt

Rayburn Vaughn Holt I was born July 7, 1938 in Sandy Hook, Tennessee to Aileen Grose Brown. He went home to his Lord and Savior on December 23, 2019.

Ray was a character. He served in the United States Air Force and was very proud to be an American. He relocated to Houston after he was honorably discharged from the military.

He loved to tell stories of his life, such as water skiing with Elvis. He loved and adored his granddaughter, Bella.

Ray was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Aileen and Duane Brown.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Rayburn Vaughn Holt II and his wife Jessica and their children, Bella Holt and Colton Rea, all of Sundown, Texas; daughter, Robin Reed Chavers and her children, Joe Rayburn Chavers and Joshua Wesley Reed of Beach City, Texas; great granddaughter, Madilyn Joe Chavers; sister, Gayle Miller and niece Jennifer Miller of Houston; brother, Jerry Brown of Houston; cousins, Michele Brooks, Holly Ruthven-Main and Nancy Brown, all of the Houston area; and by other family members that will always cherish his memory.

The family would like to sincerely thank Hospice of Lubbock for their care for Ray during the last weeks of his life.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date in Houston, Texas.
