Porfirio Mendez

Porfirio ''Pete'' Mendez, 62, of Levelland passed from this life on December 9, 2017. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery.

Pete was born July 30, 1955 in Smiley, Texas to parents Guadalupe Mendez and Sara Molina Mendez. Porfy enjoyed crafting, reading in general, as well as the Bible, and music. He was a self-contractor as a handyman and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Guadalupe Mendez, Jr. and Henry Mendez; and sisters, Geneva ''Gina'' Rendon and Dora Mendez.

He is survived by brothers, Siemon (Bernardine) of Levelland, Justo ''Gus'' (Silvanna) of Pecos, Larry (Delores) of Lubbock, Tony of Levelland, Bobby (Julie) of Levelland, Tomas (Debra) of Levelland, Jorge (Suzanne) of Levelland, Aurelio ''Bobo'' (Rosa) of Brownfield, and Adam (Glady) of Amarillo; sisters, Yolanda (Marvin) Gavina of Hereford, Irene Mendez of Levelland, Mary Mendez (George) Anton of Chico, New Mexico, and Nina (Ricardo) Alegria of Lubbock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
