Naomi Lovenus Bullin

Naomi Lovenus Bullin (94) was reunited with the love of her life in Heaven on October 11, 2024 after two long years apart. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 15,2024 at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 16,2024 at First Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas with Cody Favor and Arlano Funderburk officiating. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery.

Naomi was born on May 16, 1930 to John and Lovenus Marcy in Lubbock, Texas. She grew up in Ropesville, TX and graduated from Ropesville High School in 1947.

Naomi met R.E. Bullin in 1947 while attending Texas Tech. After just a little bit of convincing on R.E.'s part, the two quickly became inseparable and were married on September 11, 1948 in Ropesville.

R.E. and Naomi moved to Levelland and joined First Baptist Church in 1949. They both remained members until their respective deaths. Naomi enjoyed many years of volunteering in the church nursery, teaching Sunday School to various ages, volunteering for Vacation Bible School, and sponsoring numerous youth camp trips. It was her heart’s desire for all children to come to know the Lord. In addition to tithing, Naomi regularly donated money to the childrens ministry, and in her last years she established a private Foundation in order to further this mission for years to come.

Naomi wore many hats throughout her life and was always a hard worker. She got her first job at the age of sixteen as a bookkeeper for the Arnett Gin. She then went on to help R.E. with his many farming and oil entrepreneurships. She also worked as a substitute teacher and a supervisor in the special needs workshop at Levelland Junior High. Of all the hats Namoi wore, her most prized role was that of “Mother”. R.E. and Naomi welcomed their beloved son, Rodger, in 1950 followed by their precious daughter, Raoma, in 1955.

Naomi began volunteering in the Ladies Auxiliary for Covenant Hospital Levelland in 1994. She volunteered in the gift shop and brightened countless patient’s lives until the conclusion of her volunteering in 2020. During their retirement, R.E. and Naomi enjoyed many summers at their cabin in Ruidoso. While there, they enjoyed cheering on their race horses, attending church at the race track, and spending countless hours drinking coffee on the deck while watching the deer and hummingbirds.

Above all else, Naomi loved being a “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She even had the honor of meeting her first great-great-granddaughter, Lilah, in November 2023.

Naomi Bullin is survived by her son, Rodger (Rosie) Bullin of Mexico; daughter Raoma Demel of Levelland; grandchildren Shannon (Critina) Monear, Misty (Mike) Garrett, Stormy (Mathias) McCarragher, Shonee Bullin (Adrian), Clint Demel (Samantha), John (Donna) Demel, and Bucky (Katelin) Demel as well as seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, R.E., parents, two brothers; Glen and Melvyn, and son-in-law, Myles Demel.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Interim Hospice as well as Naomi’s in-home caregivers; Cullena Benson, Johnny Castillo, Yolanda Kendrick, Sonia Ordonez, and Victoria Ochoa, for the wonderful, compassionate care she received.
