Lucy T Serenil

Mrs. Lucy Serenil, 87, passed from this life on September 21, 2024. Funeral services are planned for 2 PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in the chapel of Krestridge Funeral Home, 505 Austin St., Levelland, TX 79336. Interment will follow the service at Levelland City Cemetery. A time of reflection and visitation will be held from 5 – 7 PM, Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the Funeral Home. 

Lucy was born August 1, 1937, in Brady Texas, to Antonio and Frances Torres. While still a child her family moved to Brownfield, where in 1957 she met her husband Robert Serenil

After several years in Brownfield, the family finally moved to Levelland where she became a teacher’s aide at Levelland Independent School District. She spent several years at Carver and Levelland Junior High, then moved on to the administration building to serve a growing migrant community. She served as a migrant coordinator between LISD and the families coming through Levelland looking for work.

Lucy loved crossword puzzles and reading romance novels. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her sons and daughters and especially her grandkids. Lucy is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Chodun (Eric) and Rocki Garrett (Jason), and sons Bobby Serenil (Sonia), Randy (Melissa) and Richard. Lucy was proceeded in death by her husband Robert and her son Rodney, and three brothers and two sisters.
