Lorene White

Lorena L. White, 94, of Levelland passed away October 4, 2018 in Lubbock. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Noon, Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church in Levelland.

She was born October 4, 1924 in Gotebo, Oklahoma to Adolph and Marie (Thiessen) Krause. Lorena moved to Whiteface from Oklahoma in 1945. She was a German Mennonite. Lorena was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Levelland for over 50 years. She retired as bookkeeper for Whiteface ISD after 11 years.

Lorena was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and cooking big meals for the holidays. Lorena's favorite time of the year was the Christmas season and she prepared the meal of German favorites; fried noodles, ham, sausage, borscht and sweibach. She was gracious, loving, caring and selfless.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack (A.H.) White; two sons, Albert and Dale White; and her parents.

Lorena is survived by her daughter, Patsy Kidd of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Sarah Kincaid and Joseph Kidd, both of Lubbock; and three great-grandchildren, Ava, Easton and Halston Kincaid, all of Lubbock.

The family would like to thank Lorena's special neighbors, Tommie Sanchez, Winnie and Gerald Choate, and Sandra and Robert Burton for the many acts of kindness shown over the years.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggests memorials in Lorena's name to First Baptist Church, 500 Houston Street, Levelland, Texas 79336.
