Loman Doyle Jones

Loman Doyle Jones, 90, of Levelland, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025 at the Levelland Nursing Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29,2025 at Krestridge Funeral Home from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. A celebration of Loman’s remarkable life will be held at Krestridge Funeral Home on January 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm with interment to follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor the legacy of a man who lived life fully, loved deeply, and inspired all who knew him.

Loman was born on December 21, 1934, in Brownfield, Texas to Elray and Nell Carroll Jones. He grew up in a loving home and cultivated a legacy of faith, family, and adventure. He married Lavoy Barry on June 27, 1963. Loman and Lavoy settled in Levelland in 1970, purchasing the home where they lived for 55 years.

Beyond his adventurous spirit, Loman’s heart was deeply rooted in his love for Christ and his family. He faithfully shared his passion for the Lord by preaching Sunday lessons at the Fifth Street Church of Christ in Levelland, for over 40 years, where he inspired countless lives with his wisdom and dedication.

Over the years, he authored and published numerous children’s books, leaving a legacy of creativity and storytelling that will continue to delight future generations.

Loman was preceded in death by his parents, Elray and Nell Jones; and his brothers, Coy Jones and Lee Allen Jones. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lavoy Jones; brother, John Eldon Jones; sister in-laws, Florene Flatt and Dixie Jones and countless nieces and nephews.

Loman’s life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and the power of sharing joy. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
