Larry Don Kern

Larry Don Kern, 75, of Whiteface passed from this life on February 4, 2023.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Church on the Rock Levelland.  Interment will follow in the Whiteface Cemetery.

He was born April 23, 1947 in Lubbock to Altus Homer Kern and Lillian Beatrice Wright.  Larry graduated from Whiteface Schools after attending since second grade.  He attended South Plains College for one year before being drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam where he was wounded and exposed to Agent Orange. Larry retired after 21 years of honorable service from the US Army on October 1, 1988. 

Larry met his wife, Delilah Ann Kern, during his last duty station at Fort Mead Maryland. They married June 13, 1987 and lived a blessed life for the next 35 and a half years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Altus Homer Kern; mother, Lillian Beatrice Wright May; brothers, Altus Arlin Kern and Temple Gary Kern; and step-father, Raymond Drice May.

Larry is survived by his wife, Delilah Ann Kern; sons, David Tyrus Godby, Eric Lee Godby, Raymond Don Kern and Temple Gary Kern; daughters, Brezzy Ann Godby and Erica Lynn Godby Soliz; brothers, Homer Dale Kern, Hadley Raymond Kern, Eldon Dryce May and Royce Dale May; sister, Peggy Joyce May McHam; 14 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
