Juan Cortez, Sr.

Juan D. Cortez, Sr., 82, of Sundown passed from this life on January 21, 2022.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 24, 2022, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Sundown Cemetery.

He was born January 27, 1939 in San Benito, Texas to Daniel and Maria Guadalupe Cortez.

Juan was preceded in death by his dear wife, Minnie; daughter, Maggy; parents, Daniel and Maria Guadalupe Cortez; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his children, Daena (Robert) Saucedo, Marlene (Ramon) Cirilo, Myra (Tino) Chapa, Margot (Rick) Cabrera, Mary Lynn (Hector) Guerrero, and John (Lucinda) Cortez, Jr.; brother, Daniel Cortez, Jr.; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren with one on the way; and many, many nieces and nephews.
