Jose Garza, Sr.

Jose Adan Garza, Sr., 85, of Levelland passed from this life on December 7, 2021.  Recitation of the Rosary will be at 3:30 pm on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the Sundown Cemetery.

He was born December 2, 1936 in Guerrero, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Juan Rafael and Gonzala Garza.  Adan immigrated to the United States where he met and married Berta Cavazos on August 8, 1959.  They had 5 children, Rosa, Maria Gonzala, Adam, Hugo and Bilma.

Adan worked as a farmer most of his life.  Upon retirement he enjoyed watching westerns, fishing and shelling pecans from this pecan trees.  His favorite pastime was working in his yard.  Adan lived out his golden years surrounded by his children, grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.

Adan was preceded in death by daughter, Maria Gonzala Garza; and son, Hugo Garza.

He is survived by his wife, Berta Garza of Levelland; children, Rosa Garza, Adam Garza, Jr. and wife Racheal, and Bilma Corrales and husband Salvador all of Levelland; brother, Juan Garza of Preston, Idaho; sisters, Matilde Cavazos of Smyer and Elma Salinas of Logan, Utah; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
