Jimmie Jeane Nichols

Jimmie Jeane “Jeannie” Nichols, 81, of Sundown passed from this life on October 31, 2022.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at First Baptist Church Levelland.  Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. 

She was born August 14, 1941 in Duncan, Oklahoma to James Nowlin and Mary Clifforjean Cox.  Jeannie graduated from Levelland High School.  She graduated from Texas Tech in 1972 with her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education.  Jeannie married her soulmate and love of her life, Jim Nichols in 1976.

Jeannie taught kindergarten for 32 years.  She retired in 2004 so she could help take care of her grandchildren that she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James (Jimmy) Nowlin Cox and Mary Clifforjean (Jean) Cox; late husband, Robert Lee Perkins; and granddaughter, Krysta D’Nea White.

Jeannie is survived by her spouse, Jim Nichols of Sundown; sons, Robert Perkins of Sundown, Jeremy Duhon of Lubbock and Charles Duhon of New Mexico; daughters, Cindy White of Georgia and Debbie Perkins-McCall of Lubbock; sister, Leila Strahan of Levelland; 8 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
