Jimmie Wayne Lewis, 81, of Levelland passed from this life on January 30, 2024.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the City of Levelland Cemetery.

He was born April 20, 1942 in Levelland.  Jim was raised by his foster parents, Evie Burnett and John L. Burnett.

Jim was honest, hardworking, respectful of others and loved his family.  This is the legacy left behind by Jim Lewis.

He loved hunting, fishing, searching out sheep and helping others.  Jim was a member of First Baptist Church Levelland.

Jim was preceded in death by his foster mother, Evie Burnett; foster father, John L. Burnett; brother, Johnny Howsley; sister, Patricia Roberts; foster brother, Marvin Burnett; and daughter, Dawn Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Lewis; children, Michelle Gafford (Paul), James Michael Lewis, Stephen Lewis (Kristie), Donny Lewis (Kristina), and Sharee Ramaekers (Dustin); foster brothers, Roland Burnett (Alice), and Jerry Burnett (Joyce); foster sister, Anita Mandrell (DeVern); 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Jim preferred donations to be made to Children’s Home of Lubbock, 4404 Idalou Road, Lubbock, Texas 79403. https://childshome.org
