He dedicated his life to helping shape the youth of the community through activities such as Cub Scouts, Boys Scouts, Little League Baseball, and various community and school sports and organizations.
Aside from caring for his loving family, Jim’s passion was farming the fields of West Texas for many years along with his family and friends. In the 1980’s, Jim went to work with his brothers and family at McHam Dirt Contracting where he remained until he retired.
Jim’s other passions included working on his antique tractors, woodworking, spending time at the lake with his family, traveling, and his love of country.
Above all, Jim loved his family. He loved being a husband, a dad, a grandpa, G-Pa, a great grandpa, and a loyal friend to many others he considered family. He adoringly referred to each of his kids and grandkids by their own special nicknames. Jim believed in generosity and was always willing to help and go the extra mile. He enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger.
Jim’s impact on family, friends, and community will never be forgotten. His legacy will be remembered for generations to come through his kindness and compassion. He will be forever deeply loved and dearly missed.
