Jermaine Rayshawn Franklin

Jermaine Rayshawn Franklin (Shawn) was born to Mary Elizabeth Franklin and JT Wright on February 3, 1975 in Levelland, Texas. Shawn attended Holy Temple Church of God in Christ with his grandparents where he grew up playing the drums and was baptized by the late Elder Bertis McDaniel. He was a member of the Levelland Lobos football team and graduated from Levelland High School in 1993.

Shawn was a friend to all and anyone who met his acquaintance became a friend for life. His smile lit up a room and his laugh was infectious. He loved his family and cherished his friendships. He was the definition of “Live, Laugh, Love”. 

Shawn leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kasandra, his sons Bryson, Tyreese, Jyresse, and Chase, sisters Tanisha Franklin, LaQuita Jones, and Ember Wright, his only brother Julius Wright, nieces Presley and Taylor Elizabeth, nephews Armond and Branson, his granddaughter Emersyn Lillian and an extensive host of family and friends.

Shawn is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Leroy and Lillian Franklin and Emmer Lee Whitfield; his mother Mary Franklin and father JT Wright; two uncles Jimmy Ray Franklin and William Lee Franklin.

The viewing for Shawn Franklin will be held Friday, August 30, 2024 from 6pm – 8pm at Krestridge Funeral Home 505 Austin Street Levelland Texas.

Services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11am at First Baptist Church located at 401 Houston Street Levelland Texas with Pastor Ben Alexander officiating. Streaming will available through First Baptist Church website.
