J. Leverton

J.C. Leverton, 94, of Levelland passed from this life on November 8, 2018. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, November 12, 2018, at the New Life United Pentecostal Church, 211 Ave. A in Levelland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at the New Life United Pentecostal Church. Interment will be in Coleman, Texas.

He was born September 13, 1924 in Bennington (Wade), Oklahoma to Oscar D. and Dora Murl (Hamrick) Leverton. J.C. served our country in the United States Army. J.C. married Ruby Nell Hoard on June 21, 1963. He was a farmer and rancher. J.C. was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

J.C. was preceded in death by his parents; son, Johnny Leverton; daughters, Vonda Joan and Naomi Ruth; grandson, Tate Ryder Henry Springer; and granddaughter, Scarlett Olivia Newsom.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; children, Casey (Terry) Rolen, Linda (Dennis) Newsom, Melvin (Janea) Copaus, Kathy (John) Springer, Kay (Roy) Blair, Cheryl (Mark) Hicks, Ann Leverton, and Jeff (Leann) Leverton; brother, Floyd Leverton; and sisters, Helen (Roy) Daughtery and Juanita Calvin; 25 grandchildren; and 45 great grandchildren.
