Isabel Suniga

Isabel De Santiago Suniga, our beloved Mother and Granny, went home to our heavenly Father April 7, 2020, peacefully surrounded by her family and loving caregiver and friend, Rosa.  Private family graveside services were held.

She was born July 8, 1928in Strawn, Texas to Juan and Reyes De Santiago.  Her many hobbies included working in her yard on her rose bushes and quilting for family and friends.  Isabel was known for making the best tamales.  She loved having garage sales and selling anything for a dollar.  She always looked forward to Saturday night and going dancing.

Isabel leaves behind her children, Delores (Larry) Mendez, Diane (Noe) Pena, Denise (Jimmy) Esqueda and Abel (Terri) Suniga, Jr.; sisters, Lupe Leyendecker, Estella Banda, Ophelia Vasquez and Rufugia Guerra; grandchildren, Larry Mendez, Jr., Jennifer (Kerry) Graham, Patrick Pena, Lauren Pena, Jeremy (Ashley) Esqueda, Alyssa Esqueda and Michael (Amanda) Suniga; and great grandchildren, Landon Mendez, Mason Suniga, Kinsley Suniga, Oakley Graham and Behren Esqueda.

She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, J’Lynn Esqueda.
