Helen F. Brown departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior on August 27, 2024. She passed away in Levelland, Texas. She was 93 years of age.
Helen was born at home on June 22, 1931, to Robert Dewey Nabers and Eula Oden Nabers in Blackwell, Texas. She grew up there and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1948, then went on to graduate from Hardin Simmons University & Hendrick School of Nursing in Abilene. After various roles in the nursing field, she ended her career as Director of Vocational Nursing at South Plains College on the Levelland campus, from 1971-1983.
On March 17, 1951 she married the love of her life, Arnold Mouzon Brown. From this union, two daughters were born; Cynthia Ann and Nancy Elaine.
Mrs. Brown lived her life with a strong Christian faith. She taught several ages of Sunday school at First Baptist Church in Levelland. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed Bible study, her Las Fidelas Club, flower gardening, golfing, Bridge, traveling and being with family and friends which gave her many, many hours of pleasure.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother Robert Nabers, daughter Nancy Brashear (Brady) of Levelland, son in law, Mike McGregor of Midland; grandchildren Jill Brashear of Lubbock, Andrew McGregor (Kassie) of San Angelo, Holly Condit (Taylor) of Midland, Patrick McGregor (Cody) of Plano, Susan Abrahams (Daniel) of Midland. She had a special place in her heart for her 11 great grandchildren; Jaxon, Londyn, Seven, Finley, Karsyn, Keegan, Cameron, Jax, Piper, Capri & Cooper. She is also survived by a plethora of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Arnold Mouzon Brown, daughter Cynthia Ann McGregor, and her parents.
Family Visitation will be Monday, September 2,2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Krestridge Funeral Home in Levelland. Services will be Tuesday, September 3,2024 at 10:00 AM in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be Wednesday, September 4,2024 at 10:00 AM in the family plot at Blackwell Cemetery, in Blackwell, Texas.
