Gilberto Barrera, Jr.

Gilberto T. Barrera, 80, of Levelland passed from this life on May 1, 2021.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

He was born May 4, 1940 in Junction to Gilberto T. Barrera, Sr. and Dora Torres.  Gilberto farmed for Erlin Gresham as well as a truck driver for Musslewhite.  He was a truck pusher for Verna, T.T. Carriers and Sitton Drilling.  Gilberto was also employed by Butch’s Rat Hole and Anchor Service as a fabricating supervisor.

Gilberto was preceded in death by wife, Elisa Barrera in 1983; wife Marina Barrera in 2005; son, Robert Barrera in 2003; daughter, Linda Barrera Flores in 2009; son-in-law, Leno Magana in 2021; brother, Juan Partida in 2001; and sister, Maria Portillo in 1999.

He is survived by daughters, Gloria Magana and Kimberly Ibarra and husband Joaquin; sons, Gilbert Barrera III and Albert Barrera and wife Amber; brother, Roy Barrera; sisters, Beatrice Ramirez, Carmen DeLaCerda and husband David, Lilly Williams and husband Mike, Betty Gonzales and husband Manuel, and Margie O’Canas; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
