After his wife’s death, Gerald became an active member of the Senior Citizens community and spent time delivering food to nearby nursing homes, offering a helping hand to others until his health made it too difficult. Sundays were especially meaningful to him, as he cherished gathering with family after church to enjoy meals and create memories.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Erby and Eva Louise Davis; his older brother, Loyd “Buggs” Davis; his younger sister, Wanda; and his beloved wife, Peggy.
He is survived by two brothers, Wayne and wife Yvonne of New Deal, Harvey and wife Mary of Joshua,Tx , three sons: Duane, and wife Brenda of Levelland, Steve and wife Rene of Lubbock, and Ron of Taloga, Oklahoma. Gerald's legacy also includes many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Second Baptist Church in honor of Gerald’s memory.
Gerald’s life was a testament to faith, hard work, and love for those around him. He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
