George W. Nickelson Sr.

George W Nickelson, 80, of Whitharral passed from this life on June 23, 2023. Graveside Services will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, June, 28,2023 in the Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery.   He was born November 13, 1942, in Mountain View, Oklahoma to George Marion and Ruth Turner Nickelson.  He was the 3rd of their 5 children and their only son.  He farmed in the Whitharral community for many years, and he also worked intermittently for Orkin Pest Control. His family was his top priority, and spending time with them was what he enjoyed most.  His other passions were listening to classic country music and watching John Wayne movies.    

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his four sisters, Margaret Chisholm, Marion Pass, Ruth Webb and Carol Carter; and two brothers-in-law, Gary Pass and Billy Webb.  He was also proceeded in death by two sons, Victor Scott Nickelson and George William Nickelson, Jr.

He is survived by three of his children: Lisa Rutledge and her husband Todd of Whitharral, Travis Nickelson and his wife Judy of Levelland, Candace Jordan and her husband Chuck of Weatherford, Texas, and also a daughter-in-law Cinde Nickleson of Whitharral; nine grandchildren, Casey Nickelson, Rebeka Rutledge Miller, Tell Rutledge, Corey Nickelson, Kyle Nickelson, Skyler Jordan, Will Jordan, Shanna Flores (Jeff) and Anahlisa Tisdale, ten great grandchildren; Madison, Brooklyn and Carson Nickelson; Bronwyn Miller; Caydee Rutledge, Audrey Nickelson, Isla Nickelson, Trent Tisdale, Kyla Stalling and Isabelle Tisdale.

He is also survived by two brothers-in-laws; Gerald Chisholm and Jay Carter, and many nieces and nephews.
