He was born January 2, 1954 in San Jose de Gracia Jalisco to Reymundo and Teresa Gonzalez. Fidel was a man of his word who not only loved the outdoors, but was also raised there.
God and family were always his main priorities. Fidel enjoyed making people laugh and sharing his laughter with others. He enjoyed gathering with family and friends. Fidel was the joy in the family.
He always had the time to listen when everyone else was busy. Leading the family in prayer was a must for him. Fidel was a pillar at church and was known to lead others in the way of God. He was a member of San Jose in Hereford from 1978 to 1985; Saint Jose Jalisco 1985 to 1993; St. Teresa Friona 1993 to 2000; and St. Michael Levelland 2004 until his death.
Fidel was always willing to care for his family and enjoyed babysitting his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the glue to the family, always keeping everyone together even through the ups and downs.
Throughout life, Fidel was always a loving and caring teacher. Tato, as he was known, had a big heart with big dreams. His challenging fatherhood showed his kids to be great men and fathers. He was a devoted dad. Fidel was always cautious to fix his errors and make his kids happy. The love for his wife was one for the records! Theirs was a love without barriers, unconditional and eternal.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reymundo Gonzalez; mother, Teresa Diaz; sister, Maria Romero; and son, Juan Marcos Gonzalez.
Fidel is survived by his wife, Josefina Gonzalez; sons, Erik, Fidel Jr., Raymondo, Luis, and Christopher; daughters, Teresa, Josephina, Lucia, Dolce and Ximena; sisters, Juanita, Arcelia, Teresa, Lourdes, Carmen and Guadalupe; grandchildren, Luna, Cielo, Erik, Eduardo, Juan, Abigail, Eduardo, Emanuel, Juan, Adrian, Justin, Alexjandro, Yahira, Fidel III, Marco, Natalia, Milagros, Siuley, Pilar, Angeli, Daniel, Luis, Sebastian, Maximilliano, Delilah, Divina, Camila and Christopher; and great grandchildren, Nazari, Alanna, Alessandra and Elenna.
