Evelyn Doyce Cooper

Evelyn Doyce Cooper, 91, of Lubbock and formerly of Levelland, went home to be with her Lord on August 28, 2024

Celebration of Life service will be 11:00am on September 4, 2024, at Krestridge Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. Burial will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery also under the direction of Krestridge Funeral Home.

Doyce was born in Loop, Texas, to Elmer and Viola Batteas on May 29, 1933. She attended elementary schools in Denver City and Union before moving to Sundown. After graduating from Sundown High School, she attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. Doyce married Kent Cooper on February 14, 1952. Together, they farmed land in Hockley and Bailey counties for many years. Doyce also took pride in being a bank teller in the Note Department in a Levelland bank.

Doyce was preceded in death by her husband, Kent, their son, Rod, her parents, sister Bonnie Donald and brothers Jimmie Batteas and LaWayne Batteas.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are daughter Molly Howell and husband Doug, daughter Kenna Cooper, grandchildren Chad Howell and wife Kara, Holly Rivera and husband Aaron, Landon Howell and wife Jeanine, Sherry Guthrie, Daniel Cooper and wife Melissa, Abby and husband Kelli, great grandchildren Kylar, Cade, Creed, Emma, Caedmon, Easton, Katie, Grace, Brooklyn, Siena, Robert, AJ, Eliy, Quill, Danny, Madison, Austin, Ian, Rylie, her sister Shirley Harris, extended family Patsy Batteas, Gordon Cooper, Mary Brock and Ollie Whitener, Mary Cooper and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family of Doyce Cooper would like to say a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff at Mackenzie Place for the tender loving care they gave Doyce this past year. Special thank you to Kris, Sandy, Diane, Angie and Ciera.
