Esperanza Hernandez

Esperanza Lopez Hernandez, 84, of Levelland passed from this life on May 30, 2018 at her home. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Krestridge Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 1, 2018, at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

She was born March 1, 1934 in George West, Texas to parents Santiago and Severa Lopez. She worked in agriculture in California, Colorado, Nebraska, Idaho, Virginia, Florida and Texas.

Esperanza enjoyed spending time with family, watching novelas, listening to mariachi music, car rides, caring for her rose bushes, visiting casinos and buying lottery tickets.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Miguel Hernandez; sons, Cruz Garcia, Jr. and Miguel Hernandez, Jr.; daughters, Rosita and Oralia Hernandez; sisters, Panchita, Juanita, Maria, Concha, Emilia and Antonia; and brothers, Modesto, Mike and Francisco.

Esperanza is survived by daughters, Pauline (Manuel) Escarcega and Maria Hernandez; son, Joe Garcia; grandchildren, Laura (Carlos) Bojorquez, Linda (Jacob) Velardez, Rosita Escarcega, Vicky (Oscar) Osornio, Francisco Vustan, Sonia Garcia, Josh Garcia, Josephine Garcia, Mark Garcia and Mariah Garcia; 20 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
