Elinda Salas Martinez

Elinda S. Martinez, 91, of Eagle Lake passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

She was born July 2, 1930 in Melvin, Texas to Juan and Petra Martinez.  Elinda worked in Evan’s Grocery Store in Levelland for many years.  In 1979, she moved to Amarillo to work for United Supermarkets where she retired in 1995 after 16 years of service. 

Elinda was like a second mother to her many nieces and nephews.  She enjoyed having her siblings, nieces and nephews sit around the table singing old Mexican ballads while her brother Jesus played the guitar. 

She also enjoyed gardening, fishing and telling stories about the old days.  Elinda adored her dogs.  She had a very strong faith and will be missed by all of her family.

Elinda was preceded in death by her parents; and six siblings.

She is survived by daughter, Mona; son, Fransico; and many, many nieces and nephews.
