Edward A. Shugart, 75, of Levelland passed from this life on April 26,2025. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30,2025 at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will take place at Krestridge Funeral Home on Friday, May 2,2025 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

Edward was born December 1, 1949, in Levelland, Texas to L.A. and Mary Lee Shugart. Edward always talked about his faith in the Lord and knew his eternal home was with Jesus. On Saturday April 26, 2025, He heard those wonderful words of “Well done my faithful servant You fought the good fight and finished your race and kept the faith. Edward was very involved in the Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout Award in 1964. In 1967, he was chosen to be a member of the All-American band along with 110 other students from the United States to tour Europe for a month of performing for audiences. Edward graduated top third of his class in 1968. He married the love of his life Jackie Stanley in July of 1969. They made their home in Levelland, Tx after his time in the AF. In January of 1969, he joined the Air-Force, going through Electronics school for one year in Biloxi Ms. He received orders at the end of that year to a detachment of Okinawa – Miyako Jima. While on the island he took care of the IFR equipment which told the planes flying from Okinawa to Viet Nam they were on course. For the last 2 years of service, Edward was stationed at Tinker AFB, where he earned his pilot’s license for a VFR single engine plane. Coming back to Levelland in 1973, Edward worked along his dad and Mom in all phases of the family business. From 1978-1983 Edward was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader. In 1983 after his dad’s death, he became President of Shugart Studios, Inc. a photographic company which ultimately employed 70 photographers covering approximately a third of the United States and the best plant crew of 50 here locally until retirement. In 1983, He joined the Gideon’s International. Going to churches all over the area as a speaker giving reports of the Stewardships and helping with the jail ministries. Over the years Ed’s hobbies have ranged from go-kart racing, bee keeping, model airplanes, woodworking, boating, and his favorite thing was bragging about his wife Jackie and how much he loved her.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, L.A. and Mary Lee Shugart; brother, Earl Shugart; in-laws J.R. and Bettye Stanley.

He is survived by his wife Jackie of 55 years; daughter, Kim (Stacy) Springfield; son, Aaron Shugart (Jeremy), and daughter, Rhonda (Austin) Agnew; sister, Sandra Douglass; brother in-law, Len Stanley; sister in-law, Janet Shugart; along with his grandchildren, Skylar and Laila Peterson, Alexander (Annie), Jonathan and Caroline Agnew.
