Donnie Simpson

Graveside services for Donnie B. Simpson, 85, of Morton, TX who passed from this life on Sunday, April 28, 2019, will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Morton Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 29, 2019, at Krestridge Funeral Home in Levelland.

He was born March 13, 1934 in Lubbock to parents, John Simpson and Agnes Taylor. He graduated from Whitharral High School.

Donnie married Janiece Townsend on October 24, 1953 in Levelland. He served our country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.

He was a long time resident of Morton and served his community as Mayor and County Commissioner Precinct 1. Donnie was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ for 60 years.

Donnie was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Horton; father, John Simpson, and sister, Phyllis McDowell.

He is survived by his wife, Janiece Simpson of Morton; sons, Scott Simpson of Morton and Chris Simpson of Terrell; daughters, Cindy Simpson of Morton and Vicki Fort of Morton; 7 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
