David Richard Corder

David R. Corder, 67, of Levelland passed from this life on November 6, 2023.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Smyer Cemetery.

He was born December 25, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Robert and Shirley Corder.  David graduated from Northland High School in Columbus, Ohio and South Plains College.  He married Sylvia Hernandez on June 26, 1976.

David was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force and joined the Levelland Police Department in July 1978.  He retired from the LPD after 20 years of service.

He served as an UN Police Trainer in Bosnia and Kosovo.  David returned and worked for SPAG for 15 years.  Not one to sit idly, he became the Emergency Management Coordinator for Hockley County before officially retiring.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley Corder; and son, Jonathan Corder.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; son, Jeremy; daughter, Jessica; brother, John Corder; sisters, Cheryl Mauler, Jane Gray and Susie Dillon; and grandchildren, Cole Corder, Mersaydes Corder, Matheu Corder, Addison Corder, Eloise Corder, and Bo Corder.
