David Buckner

A celebration of life memorial for David Glenn Buckner, 51, of Levelland, will be held in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He passed away on August 29, 2017 in Levelland.

David was born February 17, 1966 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Berryhill High School and briefly attended Oklahoma Baptist University where he studied religion. He graduated from Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee with a B.S. in Information Technology and Digital Forensics.

David was an Information Technology instructor and Learning Resource Center Coordinator for Vista College in Lubbock. Prior, he was a dispatcher for the City of Okmulgee Police and Fire, and a deputy sheriff, jailer, and dispatcher for the Okmulgee County Sheriff Department.

He was married to Kelly O'Connor Buckner of Levelland. David enjoyed fishing, computers, Nascar, and spending time with family.

David is survived by his wife, Kelly; parents, Glenn and Brenda Buckner; son, Mathew (Faith) Buckner; daughter, Danielle (Hunter) Laymen; step-daughter, Kristen (Michael) Williams; grandsons, Cody Layman and Aiden Williams; sisters, Beth (Robert) Van Nortwick and Lori (Jim) Milam; and several nieces and nephews.
