Cynthia Ann Nickelson, 59, of Littlefield passed from this life on February 12, 2025. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Whitharral Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Littlefield Memorial Cemetery.
Born on October 18, 1965, to Thomas J. Tibbitts and Beverly Ann Houston in Oklahoma City, OK, Cynthia was raised in both Simi Valley, CA and Midland, Texas. Cynthia attended and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s in Restaurant and Hotel management. She managed Lubbock Temporary Help Service for 12 years before deciding to serve the South Plains Community Action as a CBA coordinator. Cynthia married the love of her life, George Nickelson, on June 6, 1992, and in 2005, she became a stay-at-home mother for her sons and to help on the family farm. Some of her hobbies include BBQ, gardening, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She loved listening to music and was always finding a friend in animals. Cynthia was a loving wife, wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and will be loved and dearly missed by many.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Ann Houston; stepmother, Barbara Tibbitts; husband, George Nickelson Jr.; father-in-law, Geroge Nickelson Sr.; and her stepbrother, Mitchell Kirkwood.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her father, Thomas Tibbitts of Sun City West, AZ; siblings, Thomas T. Tibbitts (Kristen) of Boston, MA, Linda McLennan of Simi Valley, CA; Step sisters, Dian Welle (Daniel) of Idaho, Nora Dunagan (Michael) of Idaho; sons, Casey Nickelson of Whitharral, and his children, Madyson, Brooklyn, and Carson; Corey Nickelson of Lubbock, and his children, Audrey and Isla; and Kyle Nickelson of Whitharral; Daughter-in-law Taylor Nickelson, mother-in-law Ileene of Whitharral, sister-in-law Lisa Rutledge (Todd) of Whitharral, brother-in-law Travis Nickelson (Judy) of Levelland, sister-in-law Candace Jordan (Chuck) of Weatherford,TX, and many nieces and nephews.
