Criselda Tijerina

Criselda “Chela” Tijerina, 82, of Levelland passed from this life on July 4, 2022.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022, with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 8, 2022, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

She was born September 27, 1939 in Cuero, Texas to Felix and Conception (Banda) Orosco.  Chela worked for many years as a cook and caregiver to many. 

Chela loved dancing, cooking, working on her home and sharing her opinion.  She could build just about anything and made the best pecan pies.  Celebrating the holidays was very important to Chela.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Jane Tijerina; brothers, Lupe Orosco and Felix Orosco; and sisters, Ofelia Davila, Eginia Lopez and Lucia Garcia.

Chela is survived by sons, Danny Tijerina of Levelland, Fred (Diana) Tijerina of Levelland and Felix (Denise) Tijerina of Lubbock; daughters, Dinah Flores of Lubbock, Dorothy (Pete) Leon of Lubbock, and MaryLou Zamora of Levelland; sisters, Enriqueta Orosco of Indio, California, Gloria Lopez of Indio, California, and Carolina Cruz of Meadow; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.
