Catherine Shakespeare

Catherine Mary Shakespeare age, 86, of  Sudan and Levelland, passed from this life Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm  Monday, September 20, 2021, at the City of Levelland Cemetery. Pastor Scott Hensley will officiate.

Catherine was born January 27, 1935 in Lubbock County to Ben L. Schultz and Margaret Kempf Schultz.

Catherine was a wife, mother, homemaker, cook, beautician and was co-owner of Shakespeare Electric with her late husband, Bill “Shakey” Shakespeare. Catherine always had a project to do ranging from sewing to building.  Catherine and Shakey built a cabin in Cloudcroft, New Mexico from the ground up. Her real passion was growing flowers. After retiring from the electrical business, they opened a greenhouse/gardening center. Just like most grandparents, she was very proud of her grandkids. She always loved to hear what was happening in their lives.  She loved her dog, a special gift from dear friends.  After she was no longer able to do projects, she watched them on TV. Turn on DIY Network and Barnwood builders and she was happy! She was also known for her German heritage, just a tad bit stubborn.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Shakey” Shakespeare; parents; and brother, Carl L. Schultz.

Survivors include daughters, Margaret Shakespeare of Sudan and Teresa and husband R.E. Hensley of Sundown; brother, Ben L. Schultz, Jr. and wife Evelyn Schultz; grandchildren,  Alysha and Toby Reep of Lubbock, Jeremy and Kelera Hensley of Shallowater; and great grandchildren. Jaxson Reep, Phoenyx Hensley, Maverik Hensley and Malaki Hensley.
