Captain J. "Cappy" Gatewood

Captain J. “Cappy” Gatewood, 82, of Levelland passed from this life on September 26, 2022.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the Sudan Cemetery in Sudan, Texas.

He was born September 11, 1940 in Muleshoe to Larles Albert and Beulah Talent Gatewood.  Captain owned Cappy’s Lawn Service.  He was known as the “Yard Man” for his vast knowledge in that area.

Captain was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents, L.A. and Beulah Gatewood; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his children, Vicky Buchanan, Rebecca Crabtree, Randy Gatewood and Glenn Gatewood; brother, Ingle Gatewood; sister, Linda Magnan; 8 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
