Bobby R. Contreras, 71, of Levelland passed from this life on February 3,2025. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 8,2025 at Krestridge Funeral Home.

As we travel through life, we all encounter many people, twist and turns with some having more significant impact than others. We have gathered here today to remember someone who had an everlasting impact on many of our lives.

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Bobby Robert Contreras. Bobby, a most beloved soul known for his humor, outgoing personality, and always eager to make new friends on the golf course, bid us farewell on February 3, 2025. Born on December 23, 1953, Bobby lived a life filled with tremendous passion and goodwill towards others. He enjoyed lawn care/landscaping, golfing throughout the state and gambling in Las Vegas with his friends and nephew (Brandon Coronado). Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his two children, going to the movies with his daughter, Fallon, and gathering with family and friends. He loved watching his two children play tennis and as of late, he enjoyed playing Pickleball with his son, Jeffery and daughter-in-law, Alexandria, but his ultimate passion was babysitting his only grandson, Sevi Jackson Contreras. His children, Jeffery Scott and Fallon Blaine were his life and the essence of his happiness. He was a loving, dedicated and very generous father. His golf passion had no limits. He admired and respected his golfing community, but always considered the time spent with his children and family as the highlight of his day. He was surrounded by love, respected, and well-regarded by his fun-loving and close knit siblings after his parents’ passing. Bobby’s passing leaves a tremendous emptiness in his children’s and siblings’ lives, yet they will find comfort in the memories and everlasting love they shared.

Bobby was a life-long Levelland resident and a proud member of the Levelland High School class of 1972. He was a fierce and loyal Lobo supporter. His early careers included working for Jim Dandy Grocery Stores in Levelland and Wuest Supermarket in San Marcos, Texas. His careers branched in several directions, but eventually anchored him in the oilfield in Sundown, Texas. He worked a combined forty plus years for Amoco, Altura, and Oxy Permian until his retirement a few years ago. He was a well-respected and trusted leader in the oilfield world.

Bobby is survived by his two beautiful children, Jeffery Scott Contreras and wife, Alexandria Coral; his only grandson, Sevi Jackson Contreras; his daughter, Fallon Blaine Contreras, whose lives were greatly enriched by Bobby’s presence. He leaves behind seven grieving siblings who held him in high esteem: Chris (Butch) Wade; Pricella (Juan) Garza; Gracie (Omar) Garza; Daniel (Nora) Contreras; Jessica Coronado; Joey (Norma) Contreras; and Lisa (James) Guzman. He also leaves a host of loving nieces, Samantha, Casey and Carlo; nephews, Omar Lee, Nathan, Nick, Eric, Cade, Jonathan, Cedric, Joseph, Devon; long term companion, Wanda Marie Haney Demel; former brother-in-law, Hector Thompson; and close friends, Richard and Maggie Husen along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Bobby was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his parents Emilio and Bertha Contreras; his brothers-in-law, Larry Coronado and John Delgado; his nephew, Brandon Coronado; and his niece Casey Wade.

In remembrance of Bobby, instead of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory may contribute to the American Cancer Society; MD Anderson Cancer Research Center; ASPCA; or any other worthy charity in his ever-lasting memory. Your kind donations will serve as a tribute to Bobby’s life, reflecting their impact on those who were privileged to have known him. Bobby Robert Contreras, a beaming light of kindness and love will forever reside in our hearts. As we come to terms with the loss of his physical being, we shall seek solace in knowing that his spirit will live on through our memories and the love he shared and instilled in all of us.
