Bob Carter

Bob Weldon Carter, 77, of Levelland passed from this life on September 11, 2017 at his home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Krestridge Funeral Home.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 14, 2017, in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

Bob was born November 2, 1939 in Hamlin, Texas to parents Weldon and Leona Carter. He graduated from Hamlin High School in 1958. Bob attended and played
baseball for South Plains College for 2 years and served in the Army National Guard for 6 years.

Bob married Lonna Meredith in Odessa, Texas on June 6, 1970. His career in Oil Production started in Levelland with Pan American Oil Company and after a lengthy career,
retired from Texland Petroleum as Production Superintendent.

With many close friends, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, playing softball, and attending and following many sporting events. Bob was a member of South Plains College
Booster Club and Levelland Country Club.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lonna Carter; son, Donny Matt Carter of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Brittany and Amber Carter of Lubbock; and one sister, June Gregory of Hamlin, Texas.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe Wayne Carter of Hamlin, Texas.
