Bob Awbrey

Bob Gene Awbrey, 95, of Levelland passed from this life on December 17, 2021.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Sundown Cemetery.

He was born September 11, 1926 in Gainesville, Texas to Edmond Howard and Bertha Manning Awbrey.  Bob married Robbie Holton on June 20, 1947 and were married for 73 years.

Bob served in the US Navy from April, 1944 to February, 1946.  He was a Coxswain on the USS Sarasota.  Bob Commanded a landing craft during WWII, serving in the Asiatic Pacific area and the Philippine Liberation.

He was employed with the Sundown ISD for 40 years.  Bob was a faithful member of Austin Street Church of Christ.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie; parents, Edmond and Bertha Awbrey; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Awbrey.

He is survived by sons, Stephen Awbrey of Elk City, Oklahoma and Randy (Sandy) Awbrey of Levelland; daughters, Regina (Tim) Lancaster of Lubbock and Karen Awbrey of Levelland; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Bob’s memory to your charity of choice.
