Billy (Bill) Gene Griffin, 94, of Boerne, TX formerly of Kingsland, TX passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024.

Bill graduated from O'Donnell High where he forged lifelong friendships and developed a passion for adventure. After high school, Bill took a gander at life on the road, chasing the rodeos with determination and enthusiasm. His adventurous spirit and love for rodeo were known among his friends and fellow cowboys. Bill's sense of duty and patriotism led him to join the U.S. Army where he bravely served his country during the Korean War. Upon returning from his service, Bill embarked on a successful career in the oil and gas industry. His hard work, expertise, and integrity earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike. Bill's contributions to the industry were significant, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.

Bill was proceeded in death by his parents, C.E. and Selena Griffin; His loving wife of 55 years Deloris (Carter) Griffin; Brother, Boby Griffin; Sister, Mildred Crecelius; Sister, Violetta Rains and Brother in law Carl Rains; Son in law, Vincent Van Zandt; Son in law Brian Hanna; Son Danny Griffin; Daughter Kim Mills; Nephews, Carl Griffin, Glenn Crecelius, Alton Rains, and Ronnie Rains; Grandson, Dusty Carpenter; and Granddaughter Lacy Van Zandt.

Bill is survived by his sister, JoAnn Jackson; Daughters, Vicki Hanna of Lonestar, Terri Van Zandt (Keith Elmore) of Idalou, DeAnn Bernhard (Willie) of Boerne; Grandchildren, Billy Griffin (Jessica) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Bailey Griffin, Aaron Hanna of Lamesa, Robert (Sarah)Hanna of Chappel Hill, Joseph (Jessica) Hanna of Mt. Pleasant, Amber McIntire (Murphy) of Mansfield, Arkansas, Christi Bishop (Zach) Bryan, Cody Abbey (Ashley) of la Grange, Zana Cannon (Sam) of Giddings, Jenna Tondre (Matt) Austin and Kendall Morris (Tyler) of Seguin; as well as 27 Great grandchildren and four great- great grandchildren.

He leaves behind friends, and extended family members who will forever remember his kindness, humor, and the stories he shared. 

Graveside services will be held at Sundown Cemetery, Sundown, Texas on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 10:30am.
