Betty Steward

Betty Sedberry Steward, 80, of Levelland passed from this life on August 23, 2018 at her home. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at Krestridge Funeral Home on Friday, August 31, 2018, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

She was born February 25, 1938 in Longview to parents John Steven and Edna (Haggerton) Sedberry. Betty attended school in White Oak, Texas and graduated Valedictorian from Colorado City High School in 1956.
She graduated from McMurry College in 1960 with a B.S. degree in education, and Texas Tech in 1973 with her M.S. degree in early childhood education. Betty taught elementary school for 25 years in Levelland, Abilene and Lubbock.
She also operated a private school for 5 years at Wesley Methodist Church.

Betty married Jim Steward on September 10, 1960. She was a Methodist.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim Steward; daughter, Carla Brown; grandson, Ellis Brown; and niece and nephews, Julie Geer and husband Mark of Houston, John T. Sedberry and wife Pat of Austin and Saudi Arabia,
and Steven Sedberry and wife Beth of Franklin, Tennessee.
