Alonzo Mendoza, Sr.

Alonzo Herrera Mendoza Sr., 85, of Levelland passed from this life on March 17, 2024. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, with the Rosary being held at 6:00 pm at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

He was born November 28,1938 to Felix and San Juana Mendoza in O’Donnell, Texas. Alonzo married to Margarita Montalvo in Levelland on November 10,1956; they were married for 62 years. Together they had three sons, Alonzo Jr., Alfonso and David. Alonzo worked for the City of Levelland for seventeen years and Levelland ISD for thirty years. For many years he was involved with little league baseball and little dribblers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and San Juana Mendoza; wife, Margarita Mendoza; daughter in-law, Hilda Mendoza and three brothers.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his sons, Alonzo Mendoza Jr. of Levelland, Alfonso Mendoza and wife, Virginia of Ozona and David Mendoza of Levelland; grandchildren, Jeannette Regino and husband, Florencio of Seminole, Alex Mendoza and wife, Stephanie of Garland, Jerome Mendoza of Plano, Manuel Alvidrez and wife, Daisey of Pheonix, Karen Saragosa and husband, Antonio of Levelland, Jesus Mendoza of Levelland and Javier Mendoza of Texas; brother, Felix Mendoza of Temple; sisters, Ruth Alexander of Buffalo Lake, Lydia Saenz of Lubbock, Amalia Medina of Levelland and Norma Mendoza of Levelland; twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
